- This postmodern design from the 1980s features a travertine base and metal body and shade. Both shade and lamp body … more This postmodern design from the 1980s features a travertine base and metal body and shade. Both shade and lamp body are treated with a heavy coating. The wiring is cleverly hidden inside the structure of the lamp body, creating a very minimalist look. This lamp has been attributed to Michael Taylor, and would date to around the time he opened Michael Taylor Designs in 1985. The travertine base and identical shade appear on other verified Michael Taylor designs from the period and the look of the piece matches closely his work from the time. less
