John Baldessari was an American conceptual artist who began his artistic career as a painter, later incorporating found photography and text in his works. He has exhibited internationally and is included in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim, the MOMA, the Getty, the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, and the Tate. His work has influenced that of Barbara Kruger and Cindy Sherman, among others. Baldessari passed away in 2020. less
