It is smooth and flat in the center but but beware, around the edge is a crown-like design with spikes that have gorgeous filigree work. The filigree is especially beautiful against the modern center and the tips of the spikes curve out giving the piece an “open” look. Use it to serve desserts or use it as a vanity tray with perfume bottles…however you use it, you’ll love it!!. less
