Framed miniature based on Gosse's engraving of Napoleon's reception of the Queen of Prussia at Tilsit.

The miniature is framed and signed in red on the lower left.
The painting by Nicolas Louis Gosse (1787-1878) is preserved at the Château de Versailles.
On July 7, 1807, Tsar Alexander I and Emperor Napoleon I, the two most powerful rulers in continental Europe, signed a secret treaty at Tilsit, a small fortified town in East Prussia (also known as Tilsitt).
The miniature shows Napoleon Bonaparte, Talleyrand, Tsar Alexander I and his wife.
