It appears to be fine walnut planks used to create the framework for the top tiles to be placed in, as well as all the supporting aprons underneath, with four tapered legs. The top framework surrounds no less than 24 Portuguese tiles, most of which have been hand-painted with blue and white eight-petal single flowers and a faux crackle finish throughout the background on each tile.
