This extraordinary Thangka depicts 108 Buddhas with consorts in celestial court witnessing Amitabha's achievement of nirvana. Buddha seated dhyana asana on lotus throne at the center of the mandala behind a pair of consorts, surrounded by holy beasts of elephants and dragons. Buddhas illuminates bright light in stellate form, symbolizing joy of enlightenment. In the celestial court there are various scenes of Buddhas in pavilions and on platforms, celebrating Amitabha's laurels. Musicians playing music, reclining Buddhas dreaming of elephants, equestrians and archers in action, depicts Buddha's journey to enlightenment. In the garden trees festooned with bejeweled necklaces, flowers blooming everywhere, stupas emitting fragrant incense, paints a picture of heaven. This extremely detailed, one of a kind thangka painted celebratory scenes of Amitabha Buddha's achievement of nirvana. Incredibly fine depictions with brilliant colors and meticulously gilded all around. Hand painted by master artist in Nepal, hand mounted in double brocade in auspicious Tibetan colors of blue and gold with cover and ribbons. Original wax seal of authenticity. less
