This beautifully marked Antique Franziska Hirsch of Dresden Porcelain Bowl Painted in the "Deutsche Blumen" Style is semi-reticulated and has no loss of original enamel. The base is fully marked in her pale blue with Hirsch's crossed batons centered by the letter.
In 1894 Franziska Hirsch founded a painting studio located on Struwestrasse 19 in Dresden where her porcelain was decorated copying the Meissen style.
In 1896 the Meissen factory submitted an official complaint against Hirsch for the imitation of their patented factory mark. The complaint was upheld and Hirsch was forbidden any further use of the mark.
Since the bowl offered carries her mark from after the court's decision, it is dated after 1896. Although we cannot date it exactly, the thickness of the glaze and the small natural air bubbles in it, (check close up pix), imply that this piece is closer to 1900, than 1930.
