Floor lamp in Space Age style; it is composed of a high chromed metal rod holding three metal spheres each with a light bulb; the spheres are attached to the supports by means of a magnet, therefore easily adjustable at will; the rod is supported on a solid round base; the arrangement of the lights allows an excellent and uniform illumination of the environment; the simple design with clean architectural lines, makes this lamp an elegant, functional and modern piece of furniture. It was produced between 1968 and 1970 by the prolific and important Italian designer Goffredo Reggiani. Goffredo Reggiani (1929-2004) founded the company in the city of Monza (Italy) in 1957; he designed most of the lamps himself, often using chromed metal and steel, giving his creations a Scandinavian look. The style of the lamp is the "Space Age", this aesthetic current was born at the dawn of the space age, commonly attributed to the launch of Sputnik in October 1957. Space age design captured the optimism and confidence in technology by society in the 1950s and 1960s. In this style, the spherical shape predominates for most of the decorations and lighting where, often, if several spheres are connected to each other, they explicitly recall the atom. The design explodes in a variety of styles and movements, giving space to roundness, freedom of form and movement, lightness, and simplicity. The lamps of that period are characterized by essential volumes that recall the geometric shapes that break definitively with the rationalist tradition. The materials are cold, shiny, and metallic. Our lamp, with its simple and essential design, hides an ingenious, innovative, and practical soul, ready to spread light according to our needs; a model that is the result of careful stylistic research, in line with that historical period that straddled past and future. It will easily fit into any home setting because of its timeless elegance. The electrical system is working but the wiring is European, the compatibility of the voltage in other countries must always be checked by an electrician before use. Measures diameter base cm.26, height cm. 152, diameter spheres cm.12.For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects. less
