Beautiful and very rare Flat Woven Tribal Antique ( 1890’s) Caucasian Kuba Soumak Rug – Three ornaments decorate this antique flat woven Soumak Caucasian rug. Produced in the mountain chain of Caucasus from north to south of Caspian Sea, Caucasian Soumak and kilims are some of the most intricate and beautifully crafted . (Collectors item). The one that I am offering here, freshly was purchased from an auction today. Besides its fabulous golg background that i was so impressed , which is very difficult to find, I also, was so amazed with the condition & being so cleaned. Usually, when we cross something specially flat weave at this age, we must do either some normal or major restoration but in this case besides trim the ends, there is nothing else to do. Finally, another advantage that I must mention, is its size, measures 7' x 10'-7" (2.13 m x 2,22 m), folks who are familiar with Caucasian Kuba Soumak. know that majority of them come in narrow & long sizes like 5'x10' , 6' x 11' & etc. People who are looking for a decorative room size antique rug with geometric pattern. this rug would easily does the job like Serapi or Heriz.
