Rare bauhaus armchair by veha denhaag, 1930s. Veha was the brand name for tubular furniture of the metal company j.b. Van heijst en zonen (1870 – 1967). In the early 1930s they briefly (a few years) made tubular furniture. This armchair is very similar to marcel breuer’s s35 chair. The condition is used with clear traces of age and stains. What is special about this chair is that – after almost 100 years – it still has the original canvas upholstery. The upholstery is marked at the bottom with veha, nederlandsch fabrikaat (see photos). The tubular frame is also marked with veha! the upholstery has been reinforced and provided with new foam (see photos). A very comfortable chair because the seat springs along due to the special construction of the tubular frame. Color: frame silver color and the upholstery is red/orange. Dimensions: h x w x d = 78 x 57 x 81 cm. Seat height is 37 cm and armrest height is 58 cm. Material: chromed metal, canvas and wood. This piece has an attribution mark,
