And it can be converted into a Coffetable by just turning the wooden peg below the table and flipping the legs up. It was custom made for a Hollywood actress Coolen Gray Bidlack for her Husband and son Bruce & Bill Bidlack. When I first bought this table I was told it belonged to a famous Actress. But because there is an engraving underneath the table with the names Bruce & Bill 1959 ....but I first tought it was 2 men as a couple, but as I researched more I found out that it belonged to Bidlack Coleen Gray (October 23, 1922 – August 3, 2015) was an American actress. She was best known for her roles in the films Nightmare Alley (1947), Red River (1948), and Stanley Kubrick's The Killing (1956).Gray's second husband was William Clymer Bidlack, an aviation executive. They were married from July 14, 1953, until his death in 1978. The union produced a son, Bruce Robin Bidlack. So she had this table made as a gift for her Husband and son in 1959.
The wood is a fine light color wood. Probably alder or Ashwood. Natural finish, no stains. less
