This stunning American pyrography pedestal stand boasts intricate angelic designs on each side panel and a top adorned with ornate flowers and fruit. With its original dark finish, this piece is likely from the 1900s - a true antique treasure.
Pyrography, the technique of burning designs onto wood surfaces with heated metal tools, rose in popularity during the turn of the 20th century thanks to the invention of pyrography machines and kits for home use. Flemish Art Company of New York was among the first to supply these tools, giving rise to the term "Flemish Art" as a generic name for pyrography.
This unique piece is not only a work of art but also a functional piece of furniture that can be used as a pedestal, plant stand, or small table.
