Bob Foster, an Iowan, was born in 1937 in West Des Moines. Bob is a member of the Great Lakes Fish Decoy Assn (GLFDA) and the NFLCC. He styled his carvings after DFD (Duluth Fishing Decoys) being mentored by his friend, the late David Perkins, well-known Minnesota decoy designer and carver. Bob Foster started carving in early 1990s. He uses cedar, pine, and any other available wood, finishing off each decoy with glass eyes and a carved open mouth. Heavy gauge metals are designed into fins and each decoy, when completed, is painted in acrylics and given a very heavy coat of varnish. This catfish measures 12 ½ inches with a heart-shaped finned tail. He has yellow glass eyes and metal whiskers. Metal loops at top are for securing fishing line. He’s quite nice. Sales tax for all states that require it must be added and is calculated on purchase price including shipping and handling. less
