I painted this seascape after the loss of a dear friend. I could barely lift my paintbrush that day, I couldn’t coax my paint to fill the page. Yet, there is beauty in the blue, even when it doesn’t stretch to the edges. Recycled frame.

About the artist:
Nancy Smith studied art at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Olivet Nazarene University, and post graduate with world renowned artist, Estelle Fedelle, who is best known for her how-to books published by Walter Foster Publications. At Quest Academy, Nancy taught art to gifted children and volunteered in the art studio at Little City Foundation, a community of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Nancy’s art has been featured in shows and galleries in the Chicagoland area, Michigan, and has found its way into hundreds of collections worldwide. She has written and illustrated two picture books to date, A Turtle on Sunday and The Fisherman. less
