First introduced in the 1930's - the Aynsley fine bone china "Orchard Fruit Gold" pattern has long been considered their finest.
Highly collected this open sugar and creamer feature 24 carat gold lined interiors. With sides featuring vignettes of peaches, plums, grapes, raspberries, gooseberries wild grass, leaves, and filberts. All in a range of reds, yellow, violet, blue, green, and brown. Over a mottled beige background. Encircled by a gold rims along their tops and bottom perimeters.
A graduation gift in the early 1970's - this pair of open sugar and creamer appear to have never been used. Both feature hand-painted embellishment over a base transfer pattern with the signature of Doris Jones. An Aynsley artist who was active 1938 - 1968. Hand marked on the bottom of the sugar is "30 C 7115 00". The annotation on the bottom of the pitcher reads "746 M 31 00" Visit our shop for several other items from this beloved pattern including dinner plates, luncheon/salad plates, appetizer or bread & butter plates, and teacups/saucers.
The open sugar bowl top measures 4.5" diameter x .2..75" high.
The creamer pitcher measures 3.75" deep x .5.25" wide from outer edges of handle and spout x 4" high.
Both pieces are in excellent - immaculate condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks, paint or gilt loss.
