This vintage 5x14 Persian Kilim is a mid-century gallery runner and tribal rug believed to originate from the Shahsavan tribe.
On the Design:
Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, its design enjoys an all over pattern of stripes and colorful geometric motifs. Connoisseurs will admire the sense of movement in its color and pattern variations—a fabulous use of a limited traditional palette in orange, blue and white over red. Keen eyes may further admire the textural element in its stitched embroidery, and the subtle depth it lends the geometry. It’s a fabulous choice among Shahsavan rugs and Persian Kilims alike—exemplary of the rich and personal nature in nomadic weaving and folk art.
Condition:
This mid-century Persian Shahsavan Kilim and gallery runner further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
