This is a Martin Ziegner oil on masonite painting. Ziegner was born in 1906 in Saxony, Germany and died in Chicago, IL USA in 1964.
This is a painting which will bring great energy to any room in your home. It is a rendering of a man and woman with what appear to be peace offerings. The woman stands tall and holds a dove in one hand and a flower in the other. The man is kneeling and appears to be planting an olive tree which is often thought of as a peace offering. This piece was rendered in varying hues of yellow, greens, and blues.
It is reminiscent of some of Pablo Picasso's cubist style paintings in which the figures are more angular.
