The original cotton tweed has indeed age very well. There are no tears or stains and the wood has been restored in places to bring them back to their former glory. The off white French Provincial style was the rage of the 50s and 60s. They became a movement that created a style of furniture that was popularized by designers and manufacturers. I purchased these chairs from a dealer friend of mine in Los Angeles California. See less
