This bergere armchair is from the Les Provinciales Collection, inspired by the French craftsmen. This collection reinvents all the charm of the past - a la francaise - by adapting it to today's lifestyle. The chair structure is made from solid beech, tenon and mortise assembly. Elastic straps suspension and HR foam, back and armrests cushions in foam. The seat cushion is buttoned with foam and feather for an impossibly comfortable experience. The wood frame finish dark stained and hand waxed/distressed to achieve antique patina. Instant statement making piece!
This armchair, model is called 'Ivana', works just as beautifully in the common space as well as in a bedroom. The chair is clad in a decidedly French, thick cotton striped fabric (black/white with graduated taupe/gray/pink/blue hues) creating a more sophisticated striped patter. The fabric is by Jean Paul Gaultier. The chair is finished with silver toned studs and further adorned with handmade gray felt wool flowers on the front and back of the back rest, adding whimsy charm. FYI: somehow, you don't even feel the flowers while reclining, so this chair is for being used and not just for decoration. This particular version retailed for $6500+ and months of wait plus delivery charges. Made in France.
Although it looks grand, it is quite small in size and low to the ground, which is great for accentuating high ceilinged rooms or hiding low ceilings. Measurements: 27.5" (70 cm) length x 35.4" (90 cm) height and 29" (74 cm) depth. less
