When this crock was manufactured by California Pottery, metal was used instead of today’s plastic for the dispenser. However, this metal mechanism is not in working order. It won’t depress. If you plan to use this crock as a display item, you will want the original metal depresses, so we have offered it as original. If you would like to use this as a functioning beverage server, send us a note via Ask the Seller and we will offer a solution.
