Jürgen von Wolff was an Impressionist & Modern artist, known for his paintings of wildlife, typically within landscapes.

Original oil painting on canvas of an African landscape. This work, rendered with impressionistic brushstrokes, features Sommering's gazelles and ostriches on an African savannah.

It is signed "Jurgen v Wolff" and dated "1954" at lower left, and titled by hand by the artist at the verso.

The painting is presented in a solid-wood frame with a weathered look that is suggestive of the landscape it holds, enhanced by natural linen matting. Gold-toned wooden trim surrounding the painting provides a nice contrast. A metal hanging wire is at the verso.

Note: A sister painting by von Wolff, of the same size and framing, also is available in my other listings. Title of the sister painting is, "Pelzeln's Gazelle."
