Description: This spinning wheel was invented in China circa 1000 AD, and is thought to have spread to Iran, India, and … more This spinning wheel was invented in China circa 1000 AD, and is thought to have spread to Iran, India, and eventually Europe. It is still used in China today and this wheel, made from beech wood, is a relic of the province of Zhejiang in southern China, estimated to be created c. 1860. The wheel still turns and is removable, with sections of the wheel featuring beautiful carvings. A great accent piece, it could be used as a home decor item or as a base for pot plants in a conservatory. less
