Its rounded … more This charming cabinet crafted from elm is sourced from the city of Linyi in northern China's Shandong province. Its rounded legs and frames are typical of furniture from the area, with the doors fixed securely onto frames above and below by wooden dowel hinges. The butterfly-like silhouette is created by the carved, fluted spandrels tapered towards the cabinet's feet, oozing a sense of equilibrium and flow.

Originally constructed for storing valuables and personal treasures, the two top drawers can be locked with the two longer brass fittings affixed to the center frame between them. The center post between the doors is detachable to grant easier entry to the interior space. less
