circa 1950
A tall and striking pair of blonde wood armchairs with tapered horn shaped backs often attributed to Edward Wormley for Dunbar. The chairs are highly stylized and influenced by the designs of Italian furniture maker Paolo Buffa. The chairs are by Maxwell Royal, American designed and made in Hickory, North Carolina, USA. Some dealer's refer to it as a high-backed Chieftain armchair. The pair has been expertly recovered in a nubby mint green cotton and nylon blend fabric. Excellent condition.
