This large, deco influenced poster was created in 1938 by the talented Italian artist Gino Boccasile (1901-1952) for the Bantam … more This large, deco influenced poster was created in 1938 by the talented Italian artist Gino Boccasile (1901-1952) for the Bantam Company, hat makers. Boccasile was an influential artist, who in his career adapted many of the concepts of the Art Deco influence but with an added roundness of form in contrast to the sharper, rectilinear lines of classic art deco. He later created numerous propaganda posters for the Italian Government during World War ll.
The print is a stone lithograph, 39"x54", wood framed with 2" wide sides with a rounded edge giving a total dimension of 43"x58". Mount and framing appear to have been done in the United States. Print is mounted behind plexiglass to prevent color fade.
Printer was ACTA of Milan. Text at bottom right announces government approval to display the poster throughout the kingdom of Italy.
There are heavy duty wire loops on the back; purchaser will need to add hanging wire and hardware rated at 50lb. (Actual framed weight appx. 35 lb) less
