"Sharon Art Concept" design for Reliable Mfg. Co. Inc., Union, New Jersey. This Japanese MCM mirror is in a gilt faux-bamboo frame with a striking pagoda in the forefront, with Mount Fuji in the background, across the lake. Associated calligraphic characters above the scene.
The design is similar to eglomise but in this case it is created by cutting out the glass in sections and inserting the gilt-metal design from the back.
A very elegant and well proportioned mirror.
Retains the Sharon Art Concept label on the verso as well as the hanging instruction label.
Condition is very good with expected minor deterioration in glass silvering.
Circa Mid-20th Century.
