ABOUT THE ARTIST;
Signed drawings of a woman (1994) by Robert Graham. The female form was a prominent theme in Graham’s work. He was primarily a sculptor, but created several series of prints and drawings. He also created civic monuments throughout the country, from FDR’s memorial in Washington D.C. to a memorial of Joe Louis in Detroit. Graham lived much of his life in Venice, CA and several of his sculptures are displayed throughout the city, such as the Venice Torso in Venice beach and the Great Bronze Doors located in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. He was indicted into the California Hall of Fame on Dec. 15th, 2008, only a few days before his death. less
