No chips but there is a few corner pieces that have small spots where the gilding is missing but nothing is busted just a matter of putting a little filler or gesso and touching up you will see in photos. One of the sides has a few rough spots on edge but again minor touch up to repair if you desire. Looking forward at the frame it looks beautiful as is as this is to be expected in an old piece .
