Beautiful Marcel Franck perfume atomizer with leather travel case. Baccarat cut crystal bottle is acid marked "Marcel Franck, Made In France; Baccarat, France" and displays the Baccarat trademark. The Automizer mechanism is solid brass and is also hallmarked. Leather case is the original and fits the bottle perfectly.
Introduced in 1936, the "Escale" ("Port of Call") Travel Atomizer was guaranteed not to leak, even when packed in a steamer trunk. Marcel Franck created one of the most sophisticated mounts ever made, with 26 individual solid brass parts, each electroplated three times to ensure durability: unlike other atomizers containing no rubber or cloth parts to wear out. The disk-shaped metal pump rotates over the head of the mount, opening or closing the gate valve.
ABOUT MARCEL FRANCK
In 1882, Leopold Franck began producing perfume automizers, recognizing the growth of the perfume industry and items used to spray fragrances. Upon his death in 1907, his son Marcel took over the business and soon had contracts for bottles with major crystal companies like Baccarat, Lalique, Galle, Argy-Rousseau and Saint Louis: turning atomizers into works of art as the brand gained worldwide recognition. less
