A whimsical, fun-to-look-at drinks tray or fabulous décor accent, it hails from the 1970s. Handcrafted from a bent bamboo frame with a rattan basket weave center, the decoupage-inspired center of the tray displays a papyrus-like lacey swirl backing onto which a genuine black swallowtail butterfly and dried colorful fern sprigs were pressed and covered with a clear circular acrylic disc. The gallery rail is open with thin reeds all around adding an eye catching accent. This cutie measures 11¼” x 11¼” x 1¼” W/D/H; interior 10½” x 10½” x 1” W/D/H; weight 1 lb. In excellent condition with minimal wear. Colors are naturally aged bamboo and rattan which trends toward a pale wheat hue; maker unknown. For a collector of vintage trays, in all shape and sizes, this cutie should be a must have!
