This piece features seven … more Vintage midcentury handmade and hand painted shiva third eye sculptures framed in a beautiful shadow box. This piece features seven handmade and hand painted Shiva faces with distinct third eyes. They are mounted in a shadow box with a linen fabric background and wooden frame. The shadow box has a universal mounting bracket on the back making it easy to hand on any wall. Shiva is the "destroyer of evil and the transformer" within the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity that includes Brahma and Vishnu. In Shaivism tradition, Shiva is the Supreme being who creates, protects and transforms the universe. In the tradition of Hinduism called Shaktism, the Goddess, or Devi, is described as supreme, yet Shiva is revered along with Vishnu and Brahma. A goddess is stated to be the energy and creative power (Shakti) of each, with Parvati (Sati) the equal complementary partner of Shiva. less
