This large bronze bear of 34 cm high is signed 'P.J. Mene' and has a dark brown patina with highlights. This bronze is after Pierre-Jules Mêne (French, 1810 – 1879). Pierre-Jules Mêne was a French sculptor. He is considered one of the pioneers of animal sculpture in the nineteenth century.
