In 1968 the chair was exhibited at the Cologne Furniture Fair, where Verner Panton presented his Visiona 0 concept for a new lifestyle. In these years, Beltzig primarily devoted himself to the design of revolutionary plastic furniture composed of flowing, plant-like forms composed of moulded, ergonomic casts. Originally conceived as an outdoor child’s chair, the Surrealist form of the “Floris” chair is based on a cast of Beltzig’s own body, which he then turned into an anthropomorphic seat object. less
