There is a pivot joint placed at the top of the stem to allow for adjustment of the lampshade's angle. Horse shoe base is made of brass with an additional brass hoop to attach to wall. The original in line switch is placed on the cord. FA 501 is stamped on the tips of the horse shoe base. Rare piece. This piece has an attribution mark,
