Vintage; 1960s Mid-Century Modern, icon and rarely seen set of 6 sculptural dining chairs by United Furniture Corporation. This company is best known for their case pieces, of diamond from point credenza's, end/side tables, highboys, bachelor chests, and nightstands. The frames have been newly refinished in a dark cocoa/espresso color, or dark quasi infused ebony and espresso, satin stained finish. The seats have ALSO s been totally re-upholstered, in a rich blue, sexy cotton, mohair, velvet textile, from a "To the Trade," Line, by Pindler & Pindler Textiles Notice the channel tufted details are original to the seating, which includes a bolster head rest and knee rest, thus to maintain the inherent quality and comfortable nature, as was intended to follow a human's framed contour, all original to the manufacturer's specifications. The original textile was a nubby, coco-channel like textile of a citrine yellow color with acid green or orange striped textile. Notice the contour the channel tufting follows the human form, as it accords and is undulating the human form, for a comfortable seating experience, while not detracting from the very architectural design aspects, form and shape of these sophisticated and wonderful chairs. These chairs have the lux or luscious depth; and also lend themselves within the Hollywood Regency genre, a modernist, contemporary, or quasi memphis-style period, either way they are transitional, and may be inclusive into any Mad Men era, style of interior, to any eclectic upscale Mid-Century/Glamorous interior settings, or for any casual or eclectic interiors which abound a plenty. From a Miami Beach, Florida designer's trove, who has consigned these with us. As one would well have known a Designer's own home spaces are a laboratory, for inter-changing styles, design, along with the uplifting with a change, inherent in different textile changes currently. These were originally designed specifically, for a particular client who was enamored with the sculptural aspects, a custom tailored design for them. The inherent coloration of the blue reflects the natural color befalling it, from a true deep royal blue, to an ultramarine, to a cold-deep ink blue, as some of the images reflects are nuanced changes due to the sun, i.e. natural light given the time and/or duration of the photographing process, which were photographed in the outdoors, trying to get as much as the true coloration, of both the textile, and the frames finish, be it in sun, cast, or sun hiding behind clouds, and soften the overall effect and true finish of the frame as well as the textile, without detracting from one or the other, a feat not so simple, and hence why we posted several unique examples playing upon the aforementioned.

moreExcellent - Minor wear consistent with age and history. IF there was any minor wear it would be to some of the dowel covers to the backside whereupon the frame was attached to the body of the seat, in order to hide the screws, which was original, to production of these chairs. less
