The base is a very heavy and thick weight iron metal, forged bent metalworks, hand soldering seams creating the most whimsical fancy french cafe style design with industrial metal thicknesses of 1/2"-3/4" in width and scroll design curves of 1.5". Reinforced structure with cylindrical columns, made by turn-of the century industrialist era metal makers. This piece is suitable as DIY project and for professionals alike for the base part alone to repurpose a different tabletop. The metal patina contrast of blackened forged metal with highs and lows of silvery pewter and black, bronze hues, raw metal with a pronounced antique patina present from long aging over time. 100% authentic aging process, matte finish. In excellent condition, the metal is a solid sound structure, supported here by felt pads on the leg cleats.
