The Honest Co. founder, famed actress and mom of two, Jessica Alba, partnered with us and Consort Design to completely redesign a Beverly Hills property she owns. Vintage furniture and decor sourced through our site are the mainstay ingredients of the design redo. This might just be our most exciting partnership yet!

Jessica and Mat chose to work with us and include vintage pieces throughout the home. The Chairish philosophy aligned well with Jessica’s vision of savvy style – gorgeous pieces available immediately at accessible prices and with environmental sustainability. We asked Jessica, “What draws you to vintage decor?”
“Vintage is important to me because I’m fascinated by the stories that vintage pieces tell. I love the patina of the past–it reminds me of the history and life that objects have. I also believe in the craftsmanship of vintage. People really put in the time, energy and materials to make beautiful things. It feels so romantic to know there are real human stories attached to this little piece of history in my home,” Jessica enthused.
And for Mat, sourcing vintage on Chairish was made easy. ”Chairish was key to this project because the upcycled furniture allowed us to tell Jessica’s eco-conscious story in a beautiful way. Also, the ability to source from local vendors was a life saver when it came to meeting our tight timeline! We were never short of options that were rich in character and helped tell our story.”
Chairish founder Anna Brockway says: ”Working with Jessica Alba and Consort Design on this project was a total blast and a serious honor. We loved seeing how they expertly used the smashing vintage pieces sourced through our site locally. The results are ahhh-mazing!”

When Jessica decided to design the space, she knew she wanted to do it in the most sustainable way possible. Luckily for us, shopping vintage was the obvious answer. We asked Mat about Consort’s approach to decorating the space and what they looked for in their vintage decor pieces.
“We wanted to give the space a hotel vibe, and knowing that vintage would play a huge part in decorating in an eco-friendly way, we decided to draw inspiration from our favorite spots like New York City’s The Bowery and Gramercy Park Hotels. In our heads, the owners were an adventure-seeking, globe trotting couple who were never home, but left the house in the care of their mischievous, playboy son. Chairish was perfect for sourcing both “old world” vintage as well as modern touches to keep the place feeling current,” described Mat.
On May 8, Jessica Alba, Consort Design’s Mat Sanders, and Chairish co-founder Anna Brockway will be appearing together at Legends 2015 in Los Angeles to discuss the project and process. Legends is one of the most anticipated design events of the year, a 3-day celebration of design that brings together VIPs and tastemakers. Are you as smitten with the space as we are? Because Chairish has one-of-a-kind finds, we can’t offer you the ones in her rental, but we can get you others that come close.
