How do you arrange a gallery wall?
To arrange a gallery wall, first, gather all of the art you’d like to include. Generally, it’s best to include art pieces in a variety of shapes and sizes. There’s no need for matching frames, either. In fact, a variety of frames can add a valuable layer of interest. Next, lay out your art on the floor as you would like it to appear on the wall. As a general rule of thumb, lay down your biggest art pieces first and arrange smaller art pieces between them. Remember: gallery wall formations do not need to be perfect squares. It’s fine for some frames to jut out past others. Once you’re happy with the configuration, snap a photo. You may also want to create paper templates of your artwork and arrange those on the wall so you can avoid any hanging mishaps. Ideally, you want the center of your arrangement to measure 57” from the floor. This will ensure that your gallery wall’s center is located at eye level.
