19th century gorgeous set of eight French caned dining chairs hand-carved from walnut in the grand Louis XV taste. The … more 19th century gorgeous set of eight French caned dining chairs hand-carved from walnut in the grand Louis XV taste. The chairs feature an open cartouche shaped back inset with cane. The seats have serpentine aprons that are bowed in the front and inset with cane. The seats are supported by elegant cabriole legs ending with scrolled feet. The frames are molded and decorated with floral motifs on the legs and seat crest. Beautifully constructed with older repairs and newer cane on some of the chairs. The matching chairs have a rich, aged patina and a country French provincial aesthetic and profile.
