Plein Air Painting means painting out of doors, on location. It is a challenging way to paint, you battle the weather and well meaning visitors, but the reward is you have a direct, intense experience than is not possible when using a photo reference. I consider myself a documentary painter, I like to make records of who we are and what we see everyday.

This piece measures 7.5" High x 16" wide. Painted with excellent oil paints on a birch panel with traditional gesso and protected with a matte varnish, this piece will outlive us all. It has been framed with natural hardwood in a thin floater frame by a fine furniture maker, Jens Sehm. It is being stored in my studio and can be shipped immediately. less
