Description: A heavy, deeply cast head of a water buffalo that is very realistic. It was probably meant to hang on … more A heavy, deeply cast head of a water buffalo that is very realistic. It was probably meant to hang on a wall.

The heavy bronze sculpture is very intricate and well-cast. The head has a dark aged patina. There is white plaster inside the sculpture from manufacturing. The underside of the piece has two tabs which may have been mounted to something.

There are no marks or labels. We believe it is from China and from the late 19th Century but there’s not a lot to go on except for the golden color and heavy weight of the bronze. Both of these point to the 19th C and to be of Chinese origin.

MEASUREMENTS
5 ½ in (14.0 cm) wide x 3 ¾ in (9.5 cm) deep x 2 ¾ in (7.0 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 8.1 oz (680 g)
