A framed drawing on paper by celebrated Mexican artist Diego Rivera. The work depicts a portrait of a boy and done with colored pencils. It was possibly a study for a character on his mural.
The work was from an estate collection in Florida, and it comes with following provenance:
On the back of the frame, there remains a paper label from Galeria de Arte Misrachi as shown. The gallery was established by Alberto Misrachi in circa 1937 in close association with and to represent Rivera, Kalo and Tamayo.
It also comes with a laminated certificate from Galleria Mexicana dated 1956 and a later certificate from CENIDIAP El Centro Nacional de Investigación, Documentación e Información de Artes Plásticas) of INBA (Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura) dated 1999.
