A wonderful original antique bentwood hatstand / coat rack by Thonet. This was made in central Europe in Austria, it … more A wonderful original antique bentwood hatstand / coat rack by Thonet. This was made in central Europe in Austria, it dates from around the 1900-20 period.

It is a fantastic model, with a very wide and beautifully curvaceous base. It has eight beautifully curved supports on the top for coats and hats, the base is designed to support umbrellas and walking sticks.

We have recently had this re-polished, it is in excellent overall condition for its age. The Thonet stamp is seen below the base.
