The upper and lower portions of the chest have a large compartment accessed by sliding panels with horizontal slats and iron latch. This storage chest would have been used to hold a number of personal belongings and the purpose of the wheels were so that it could be moved easily from the house in case of a fire. This antique storage tansu features the original finish with beautiful patina. less
