With graduated, grooved notches to accept plates or bowls of varying diameter. Used today to display Chinese export punch bowls or chargers. Originally placed near the hearth to keep food warm. Good overall condition and wonderful patina - minor wear and small chips. Fully useful and displays beautifully by itself. Called a "cat" because it lands on its feet no matter which side and because it's found closer to the fireplace. Measures 12.25" W x 11.0" D x 9" H. less
