His big wig and bejeweled top coat testify he was a man of means and the quality of the image indicate that it was an executed by a talented artist. There are old patched repairs on the back of the canvas that do not show on the front. The image measures 30” x 28”. Outside measurements are 33 1/2” x 38”. Given the fact that it dates circa 1730-40, it is in remarkable condition. A showstopper in any room. less
