The taste … more Excellent Dutch Baroque style mirror with a spectacular rectangular frame of ebonized and carved wood with curly moldings. The taste for this type of mirrors began throughout the 17th century, but they continued to be made until well into the 19th century. They became very popular throughout Europe and many countries adopted this style. They are characterized by being decorated with bands parallel to each other, usually of different widths and heights or relief, alternating smooth ones with others of different sizes. The most characteristic is the “curly”, small waves reminiscent of basket weaving and which become intricate details of great visual interest. In the center of the frame, a rectangular mirror plate reflects light and creates a feeling of spaciousness. It presents slight signs of aging, which only enhance its authenticity and character.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of this piece, showcasing the skill and artistry of 18th century Dutch craftsmen.
