What’s the best way to hang posters?

Ask almost any designer and they’ll tell you that the best way to hang a poster is to professionally frame it. With framing, you don’t have to worry about wrinkles or air bubbles, which are both common issues that occur when hanging posters with tape or push pins. Adding a frame is an easy way to make posters look more sophisticated (i.e. the antithesis of dorm room decor). Generally, you’ll want to forgo flimsy plastic frames with non-glare-resistant plexiglass, which can degrade the overall effect. For most posters, a standard black gallery frame will provide the most versatility. You may also want to consider matting your poster to make it look even more like art. If you’re not sure you want to invest so heavily in a poster, you may want to consider opting for a poster rail. A poster rail is a flat bar that clips onto a poster’s top and bottom, usually with magnets. The top bar is attached to a string for hanging. Poster bars are most often made of wood, making them ideal for interiors with a rustic aesthetic.
