Outdoor Lounge Chairs
“Lounge chair” is typically the term used for outdoor chairs with arms and a slight back lean. Adirondack chairs, for example, are a popular style of lounge chair. That said, not all lounge chairs have to have arms. Some chairs, such outdoor slipper chair loungers, forgo arms in favor of a casual silhouette that makes it easy to slide in and out of. Loungers are usually used in pairs, either opposite a sofa, or with a single side table between the two. Lounge chairs are great choices for outdoor areas where you might be short on space, such as a balcony. Their mostly upright silhouette makes them compact, but their slight lean emits a feeling of casualness.
Outdoor Chaise Lounges
Best suited for extended patios or pool decks, chaise loungers at the ultimate relaxation chair. These low-profile chairs consist of a reclined back and an extended seat which supports a sitter’s extended legs. Chaise loungers are ideal for sunbathing, which makes them a great choice in backyards that revolve around R & R. If you’re short on space or you’re looking for seating options that can function as dinner chairs in a pinch, you’ll likely want to opt for another style of seat.
Outdoor Dining Chairs
Similar to their indoor counterparts, outdoor dining chairs generally have a formal, upright silhouette. They’re typically best used around an outdoor dining table because their straight back doesn’t accommodate comfortably sitting for long periods of time. That said, if you have an extremely small outdoor space, dining chairs are the most compact of all outdoor seating styles.
