What is the Difference Between a Wood and an Upholstered Bed?

Besides the obvious difference in their construction materials, wood beds and upholstered beds have very different lifespans and comfort levels. Wood beds tend to be sturdier and more durable than upholstered beds, but don’t provide the comfort of an upholstered bed. Those who use their bed purely for sleeping might not dock points for this, but for those who utilize their bed for working, watching TV, or reading, it may be worth investing in an upholstered bed with a padded headboard. Stylistically speaking, wooden beds have the tendency to skew more traditional than upholstered beds, although there are many contemporary wooden beds on the market. Reclaimed wood beds are an especially common modern-day style. Upholstered beds don’t generally last as long as wood beds, as they can be difficult to clean and can suffer from fading and snagging, but they can provide a bedroom with an inherent warmness.
